Terms

These are the plain-language terms for using Gifted. A lawyer has not signed off on them.

Accounts

Gifted accounts start from an invite. You sign up with the email address that invite was sent to. You are responsible for the activity on your account.

Children are managed recipients

Do not create an account for a child, and do not ask a child to sign up. A child does not get a login.

You may keep a list for a child as a managed recipient. That is a name you enter, with no account behind it. You are responsible for the information you add about them and for the people you invite to that list.

Using Gifted

Use Gifted for gift lists among people you actually know. Do not use it to harass someone, to reveal a surprise on purpose, or to upload information you have no right to share.

Gifted can close an account that is used this way.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings by typing the email address on the account. Gifted deletes your sign-in, your contacts, and your memberships. If you own a list that has a co-owner, the co-owner who joined first becomes the owner. If there is no co-owner, the list is left without an owner and its open invites are cancelled. List activity you recorded stays, with your name replaced by “Deleted user”. Deletion cannot be undone.
